I recently bought a newer Jeep that came with a red top optima battery,
after the rollover the Jeep sat in the auction lot for about 2 months with a
totally dead battery. I have heard in the past that optimas dont take well
to being drained. I put this battery on the charger for almost 11 hours
today, the battery got warm, but would not take a charge. Is it possible
that this battery - which is about 1.5 years old, is completely trashed? Or
is there some secret to bringing an Optima back to life? I put this battery on the charger and am leaving it there overnight, I will
check again tomorrow to see if it can start the vehicle...but I have
serious doubts it will hold a charge. So is there some secret to bringing an optima back to life, or is it just
trash?
